APOLLO LANDING SITES IMAGED BY LRO! (via Bad Astronomy )
The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has taken a number of pictures of the Apollo landing sites. In this one of the Apollo 11 site you can just make out the bottom half of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module that was left behind when Armstrong and Aldrin blasted off the Moon.
In the photo of the Apollo 14 site you can just make out tracks in the Moon dust made by the astronauts.
The hunt is now on to find Alan Shepard’s golf balls!
