Hackers target Christians on Facebook
Hackers targeted a Christian dating site to get users passwords and then found that many users used the same password for their Facebook accounts. The hackers then logged into a number of these compromised Facebook accounts and did a little updating of their own. Some of which was funny but a lot was just vicious and hurtful (and also funny as long as you don’t think about the effect of the prank on the victim).
As well as showing the line between making a joke and spiteful victimisation is pretty thin at times, it’s also a warning about the use of passwords on the Internet. Don’t just use one, have several, and don’t use your online banking password for anything else.
Anybody know of an ad-in for Firefox that will generate strong passwords?
