Flying yogi claims eating GM foods is a health risk; Ohmmmmmm
Jerffrey Smith, a self-confessed flying yogi , claims that there is a conspiracy amongst world food regulators to promote GM foods that are highly risky to human health. Most of the evidence for which comes from the Institute of Responsible Technology, which he founded, or from web sites which were set up to promote his anti-GM books.
Not everybody is totally convinced. Some such as Dr Chrstopher Preston at the University of Adelaide think some of Mr Smith’s claims are a beat up.
What is clear is that Mr Smith is very good at self-promotion; the fact that he has his own institute and two books also give he credability as an “expert” in some eyes.
But do we trust a guy who claims he can fly?
