It's not only the kids who are obese.
It now appears that our galaxy, the Milky Way, has being stacking it on too! Australian astronomers have found that the Milky Way is actually twice as thick as previously thought; 12,000, not 6,000 light years thick.
1 light year is roughly 5,878,499,810,000 miles or around 9,460,528,400,000 km.
