Chromatics - Running Up That Hill

Another cover, then. This time, it’s Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill”. Yeah, you know the one. Surprisingly, this track is probably the high-point of Chromatics’ wonderful album, Night Drive. Swapping Laura Bush for Radalet’s languid (in a good way), unsteady delivery, combined with a minimal arrangement of keyboard and guitar, makes for an oddly intimate affair.

And because it’s the weekend and I’m feeling generous, here’s the creepy video for the next track on the album, “Killing Spree”, a wholly instrumental number, shot in “location unknown”, which seems rather fitting, really.

Edited: It was in fact Kate Bush, not Laura Bush. I have no idea how that happened, but I’m sure the First Lady is just as talented as Kate.

As a Kate Bush fan of old I have to say this cover is weak. The main problem is the vocal. Kate has a strong unique voice, the vocals in this are insipid to say the least.
