Christian school defrauds Australian Government of $2 million.
The school board of a private Christian school has sacked its principal after it was found he defrauded the Australian Government of $AUD2 million of taxpayers money.
Ex-Principal Lyn Mazey had lied about the number of students enrolled at the school in order to get more government funding. He claims that he made no profit from the fraud and that all money was used on the school.
Despite this the school will be closed by the board as it has debts in excess of $AUD5.5 million which it can’t repay. The church which is associated with the school has refused to sell off land it owns to pay of the debts.
Students currently enrolled at the school will now have to find a new school to go to after April 11th.
Ex-Principal Lyn Mazey blames the fraud on the Australian Government for not auditing the school on a regular basis.
All up some very good Christian moral principles being demonstrated here.
