What time is it?
I think my phone and computer know when Daylight Savings kicks in and out, so I assume that they have already set themselves forward…but what if they haven’t? Cursed technology. My snot-filled head is ever so confused.
We have this very real problem in Oz right now. A number of states have decided that this year we will delay the end of daylight savings by one week. So our clocks are supposed to go back one hour this coming weekend not the one we just finished (depending on your time zone you might be still enjoying the weekend, but some of us are at work already).
A large number of computers, mobile phones and other electronic devices didn’t get the memo so they decided to loose an hour on Saturday night. The result on Sunday was Telstra’s (large phone company) talking clock was giving out the wrong time, an airline’s check-in system caused the delay of several planes and a number of people who used their mobile phones as alarm clocks were late for work on Sunday.
