If you ever make it to Cardiff, I’ll buy you a pint.Pleidiol wyf i’m gwlad, Bryn!
Thanks, mate! I was just reading about Cardiff yesterday. I’d love to make it over there sometime.
My “home” town is Llanelli or if your English Llanelly, Buckleys and Felinfole were the flavour of the day. Hint: single F is pronounced as an English V. Double F is an F. So Felineolfe, sounds like velinvole. Double L is hard to explain in English.
However Llan roughly tanslates to parish. So Llanelli is roughly the Parish of Elli.
Where as Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, is “The church (Parish) of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio’s of the red cave.”
One day I’ll get there.
