This is sad and it is up to us to change it.
I agree. I also think the U.S. should move to a four-day work week.
I moved from ten days in Canada to twenty days in Oz. And because I have been at the same company for 10 years (I don’t know how) I get a one of lump sum long-service-leave of 84 days (on top of regular leave).
Oh, yeah the first company I worked for on arriving in Oz had leave loading, I got paid 19% more when I was on holiday. This is something the unions negotiated to make up for overtime and other penalty rates that workers would loose out on when on holiday. I can’t understand why so many people dislike unions, I got the extra pay and I wasn’t even a union member.
