Investigating Atheism
This University of Cambridge site aims to set the current “‘God Wars’ in their historical context, and to offer a range of perspectives (from all sides) on the chief issues raised by the ‘new atheists’. We hope this will encourage more informed opinion about the issues, discourage oversimplification of the debate, and deepen the interest in the subject.”
While the site claims the authors have no views on the subject matter a majority of them are members or former members of the “Psychology and Religion Research Group” which is part of the Faculty of Divinity at Cambridge. The PRRG performs scientific research on “religious cognition”. Research areas include mathematics and the spiritual world and looking at ways that psychology can be put to use in service of the church.
