Plastic plants with a difference.
Researchers at Australia’s CSIRO have genetically modified plants to produce fatty acids that are typically sourced from petrochemicals. Researchers believe that such plants can be used to source the chemicals normally obtained from crude oil in the production of plastics, paints and cosmetics.
