Dumber than Americans?
Americans get a lot of crap, I guess it comes with being at the top of the food chain, but in many cases it is unwarranted; ok they can’t be fully trusted because their beer is weak as piss but overall they are decent caring folk.
Question, which is the most obese country in the world. America! Wrong! Australians are more obese!
This “little” fact came out earlier in the week, in a number of surveys related to health Australians are more obese than Americans. I simple put it down to the fact that we don’t like basketball and thus we just look squatter…
Talking of basketball I went to a Sydney Swifts game the other night (female Netball team for American readers) … lots of tall, sweaty, athletic and rather attractive women … but I digress.
The linked story is about another American myth. You might think going by stories in the press that religious beliefs are taught in more US schools than Oz. But you’d be wrong!
Because of the separation of church and state in the USA there are no publicly funded “faith” schools in the US. But in dear secular Australia because of the lack of spine of our politicians about 30% of students are taught in faith based schools.
Some of which teach that creationism and intelligent design are valid science theories.
So whose a dumb yank now?
