Catholic World Youth Day to be a Gay free zone.
Organisers of the Catholic World Youth Day, to be held in Sydney, Australia, have prevented a Catholic group from holding a forum about homosexuality as part of the week long festivities (which part of Day don’t they understand?).
The Gay Catholic group Acceptance had been struggling to hold the event and claim that the church’s position will isolate young gay Catholics.
World Youth Day organisers claim they are preventing the forum not because of the Gay membership of Acceptance but because the group does not support the Catholic teaching on chastity. See you can be anything you like and be Catholic as long as you keep it in your pants.
