Wind farms over inflate bats.
Bats are dropping dead around a wind farm in Alberta, Canada, with the majority of them not coming into contact with the turbine blades. The cause of the problem seems to be that as the blades spin they create a low pressure zone, any bats in the vicinity run the risk of their lungs being over-inflated causing burst blood vessels and possibly death. Currently nobody has any ideas on how to keep the bats away.
