Teachers pack guns in class
The USA must be a very dangerous place. To “protect” the students at an isolated 110-student school in Texas teachers now pack hand-guns.
Superintendent David Thweatt of the Harrold Independent School District in Texas claims that without arming the teachers “it’s not going to take very long for it to be a total massacre”.
Now this is another example of poor risk assessment. Given that the odds of a gun of one of the teachers going off accidentally is so much higher than the odds of some nutter walking into this small school to shoot the place up, the school board has actually increased not decreased the chances of a student getting shot.
But it’s Texas and it involves guns so logic of course goes out the window.
