There are some even in this sceptical age who still believe that God is an old man with a long beard. His name is Charles Darwin, patron saint of scientific atheists.

Despite what you might think from the quote this is not an attack on Darwin or Science, but more of an argument for putting boundaries on what science can and can’t tell us. I might not agree with all that the Rabbi Sacks has to say but we both agree that Darwin’s ideas dealt a death blow to the “very poor argument for the existence of God, namely the argument from design”.
