“ First of all she [Palin] offers an opportunity for an ailing Republican party to reconnect with ordinary Americans. She’s conservative, but her conservatism is not that of the intolerant, uncomprehending white male sort that has so hurt the party in recent years. I hope you US Democrats are taking this thing seriously. From where I’m sitting Obama (or Clinton) was never a shoe-in and things are looking to be getting a lot tighter.
