I didn’t know about this when I visited William Creek (population 6) a few weeks back so I didn’t ask about it, I certainly didn’t see such a tree; maybe the do-gooders got their way and stopped the practice.
It’s estimated that each feral cat in Australia kills between 5-10 native animals a week. Feral cats are seen as a major threat to a number of threatened species in Australia and a major problem for conservation efforts. Of course it’s not the cats fault their biologically designed to hunt, the problem lies with dip-shit-thick-in-the-head cat owners. If you have to have a cat get it de-sexed, if you want to put it outside to play then put it in a caged area or get it de-fanged and de-clawed … better yet just shoot it.
