William Shatner to be the new Canadian Governor General?
There is a movement afoot to get William Shatner, aka James T. Kirk, to be appointed the next Governor General of Canada.
For those not au fait with the Westminster system of government in current and former British colanies, the Governor General is the most powerful position in the executive branch of the government, however they are not supposed to use their constitutional powers (which in most cases are unlimited) without the recomendation of the legislative government of the day, or in exceptional circumstances.
Now does anybody for a minute think that Governor General Kirk would sit on his hands and not use the powers in his possession?
