Iraq's LBGT "Underground Railroad"
A secret network of safe houses and escape routes is saving gay Iraqis from execution by Islamist death squads.
Gays are being shot dead in their homes, streets and workplaces. Even suspected gay children are being murdered. The murders are being orchestrated by the police and security agents.
This campaign of terror is sanctioned by Iraq’s leading Shia cleric, Grand Ayatohlah Ali al-Sistani. In 2005 he issued a fatwa urging the killing of LGBT people in the “worst, most severe way” possible.
This is the same guy who has received praise and support from both the US and British governments; mainly because he was anti-Saddam. There was a time when Saddam received our support too.
