Soldiers for the modern Crusade.
Apparently the Pentagon is allowing evangelical groups to proselytize among active-duty members of the US Military. One of the groups involved “Operation Straight Up” claims that they will “hold the only religious crusade of its size in the dangerous land of Iraq”. As if the poor country wasn’t a mad enough place as it is.
Much of the material distributed by the group is in Arabic. This despite the fact that few American soldiers can actually read Arabic, so who exactly is the target for conversion? Hmm, let me think…
