Coming Soon, The World Digital Library
On April 21st 2009 UNESCO will launch the World Digital Library The library will make available on the internet, free of charge, significant primary materials from cultures around the world, including manuscripts, maps, rare books, musical scores, recordings, films, prints, photographs, architectural drawings, and other significant cultural materials. In other words El Dorado for your average Tumblr user!
Partners in the project include Britain’s Wellcome Collection, the USA’s Library of Congress, National Library and Archives of Iraq, Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah University and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
